Jeremy & Katie // Yakima Wedding

This was a wedding to remember...

The day was gorgeous. Sun leaked through the trees. The bride & groom looked stunning & were full of joy for one another. The clouds rolled in right before the ceremony & the bride eyed them nervously. I was thrilled. No harsh sun or shadows for the ceremony? A photographers dream. Then the thunder hit. Every eye was glued to the sky. The ceremony begins as normal...and then...the rain came. Not just a few sprinkles...we are talking "everyone jumped in a swimming pool" type of rain. The ceremony proceeded. Memorable, beautiful & WET. The best ceremony ever. Who doesn't want to kiss in the rain on their wedding day?

As the clouds cleared & the sun came back out (after many guests & workers rushed to save everything at the reception), Katie walked up to me & said, "well, this definitely proves that it really doesn't matter... We are married & that's all that does."

So true. What a lovely wedding to be a part of.

Kevin & Kaarin // Engagement Session

I would let these images speak for themselves, but I can't help to share with you what Kaarin told me when we met up for coffee to get her vision for her and Kevin's engagement shoot. Her vision was clear...

"Don't worry about getting too many lovey-dovey shots, I just want to look bad ass"

So here you go. One bad ass engagement shoot.

Nathan & Grace // Spokane Wedding

Once long ago there was this cute little red-headed kid who toddled around next door to me. His sister was my best friend & for many reasons, I was forever connected to his wonderful family & considered him a brother to me. That little boy grew up a little & started playing music. He was so very talented & gifted. I watched him learn & thrive as a worship leader in a small setting & then in bigger ones...until the day he became a Life Center intern, under my husband & I. These were some of my favorite years, watching him do what he was made to do & getting to be a part of them. This is also the time I started praying...for someone special to rock his world.

Then this girl came along (well really, she had been there all along). She was adorable of course, but beyond that she was kind & funny. Most importantly, she loved him & thought he was special. I'm not even kidding you, my prayers for "that girl" turned into prayers of "Grace". That little red-headed boy was now a man & had found someone special.

Because of this...being a part of their wedding filled my heart with more joy than you can imagine. Capturing these images was one of the best things I've ever gotten to do. I love you Nathan & Grace, I believe in your marriage & I'm so proud of who you are together.

Matthew & Liz // Engagement Session

What do you do when the weather doesn't want to cooperate for a photo shoot? Have an awesome couple who's up for whatever...and make it awesome anyway.

This past summer I got to spend a little time with this lovely young woman...as we drove together to the shoot location, she casually mentioned to me that she didn't like pictures of herself. At the time I was a little perplexed. She's beautiful and super photogenic. And then a couple months ago she asked me to take pictures of her and her fiancé. Little did I know that I would have the pleasure of taking pictures of two extremely sweet and photogenic people. Such a fun shoot down by the river.

Zach & Emily // Spokane Wedding

This sweet sweet couple...Oh how I loved them & this special day. Emily reminds me of a porcelain doll and is the sweetest & most genuine gal. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her a bit through this process & also getting to be a part of the love that her & Zach have for each other. My job is so fun!

Winter weddings are guaranteed to have one thing...cold. So of course, weather was a concern as was the cold. But this bride & groom didn't complain once & were so genuine about wanting to let me "do my thing" to get good pictures even if that meant them freezing their butts off. I am so glad they were up for the adventure...it was well worth it.

Will & Cassidy // Spokane Wedding

This groom made me so emotional..UG...I hate being emotional. But I couldn't help it with this one. The love Will has for his bride and the way he expressed it throughout the day was so beautiful and sweet. And then there was the fact that the light was gorgeous. Needless to say, this girl (aka ME) was a rollercoaster of excitement and emotion during this wedding. Boy oh boy.

Spokane will miss you Will & Cassidy.
